Being part of the design team at Mr Shoes as my Job, I love to take a peek at whats going down at Urban Outfitters for design inspiration. They probably have an army of designers, so their work is always top notch and undeniably enviable.
But rather than being distracted by their huge range of apparel like most of you may find yourselves, I find myself drooling over my desk at the sight of their homeware!
For those who already watch my videos will know of my picture wall in my living room, all frames purchased from Urban Outfitters, they were hard to refuse as the gloriously colourful, kitsch regency frames not only caught my eye, but have a wonderful deal that was (and still is) 2 big frames for £10 and 3 small frames for £10! Who could say no! So naturally I bought 12!
But what I love about Urban Outfitters is they have just the right balance of garish tack, british nostalgia and vintage boutique elegance. If you’re like me and love everything kitsch, outrageous and somewhat ridiculous they’ll do more than tick your boxes. On the other hand if you love a little shabby chic or retro glamour then they are right up your street! Ranging from cute wire owl picture holders to gold flying pugs, the youthful and eccentric personality of Urban Outfitters shines through in their product range.
Once more their fantastic selection of artworks, soft furnishings and tapestries means you can transform your home into a quirky little Den, almost that of an artsy bar, the type that has the local cat sitting about the place and who serves their tea in a selection of retro mugs.
All in all it must be said that I hope to one day visit an Urban Outfitters after saving my pennies and have a little home ware spree!
